And now as opposed to 3 years ago, regulators are working for .25 cals.

I would like to add a regulator to my gun and start shooting again. Any recommendations on where to start over, would be greatly appreciated. From what I have gathered over the past 4 hours of looking, its more than just adding a single item. If anyone has a list of recommended items, and their benefits, that would be great, and would give me an idea of where to start my research.

Also what happened to the Humor section of the forum? We used to laugh all the time, but I saw that a joke thread I started in 2013 is still on the first page. Has all of the humor/jokes died with the newest generation of shooters? cajun_gunner Wed, 25 Dec 2019 12:09:30 -0600 http://www.marauderairrifle.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=19922&p=98193#p98193 http://www.marauderairrifle.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=19922&p=98193#p98193 Re: What is needed after a huma regulator is installed I am checking to see how your regulator install worked out. I have not been on this forum for about 3.5 years, and have not shot my gun much since that time. But I am looking to dust it off and start shooting, and I am thrilled that regulators are now being talked about. Last time I was here, the popular opinion was that .25 cal should not be regulated.

I am considering the Huma regulator, or maybe a kit that includes a new valve, spring and hammer. I am pretty lost with all of the info, and from the responses that you got, I am guessing that this has been discussed at length in my absence.

Good luck and I hope your mods turned out great. Also there's a lot of heat generated in the transfer port area upon firing the gun. If you doubt that, just think about how dieseling can be done! The heat generated in the transfer port expands/contracts the poly tube material making it unacceptable and can cause a lot of variation in your extreme spread. Pellets @ 900+ fps The only way I've found to increase the velocity is to increase the airflow through the entire gun. That may be a no-brainer but being somewhat new to airguns I probably have to learn all the things
old-timers already know. So I'll tell the story again:

I drilled the valve port out to .187 inches, made a copper transfer port (recently completed) similar in design to the original but massively larger with an inside diameter of approximately 0.2 inches
and about 5/16 inches outside. It required ordering some special square cut O-rings from The O-ring Store.com and tailoring them to 11/32 inches outside. I also had to mill both the valve and barrel
tops/bottoms to 11/32 inches with the end mill and drilled the barrel port to 0.187 inches as well. So basically the entire route from poppet to pellet is 3/16 inches in diameter. I tried to go to 1/4 inch
but that was too big and actually cut into the wrong area and ruined a perfectly good valve. Oops, but oh well, only one way to learn. So I learned a lesson. If I was a machinist and had the equipment
I'd invent a valve that could handle it but the best I can do right now is alter what Crosman Corp. sells. Saw one on JS Air rifles that had a 1/4 inch port but they evidently no longer sell it.
