bore polishing question

The Benjamin Marauder air rifle can be tuned. You can adjust the trigger and the rifles velocities for different fill pressures.

bore polishing question

i read greg davis' post on polishing the barrel with mothers. i don't have mothers but i do have brasso metal polish. will this work? same thing or different? i also have jb paste but he says not to use that.

what say you?

Hey Wildcat,

I used Flitz metal polish for my barrel and it does a nice job of polishing the bore. Just make sure the transfer port is clear of polish residue after your done. It's probably best to remove the barrel from the rifle if you want do this job right. Not sure about Brasso doing a good job polishing the bore. I know that Greg Davis says not to use JB Bore Paste but I'm not sure why he has a problem with it. If you use it sparely with a couple of passes thru the bore I can't see where it would cause a problem. Some guys use a cleaning pellet with JB bore paste to clean up their barrels so I guess the question is why not use it??
