Using dry fire shots when shooting a shot curve

The Benjamin Marauder air rifle can be tuned. You can adjust the trigger and the rifles velocities for different fill pressures.

Using dry fire shots when shooting a shot curve

Postby Rattus » Thu Jan 01, 2015 11:48 am

Hi all,

To save pellets I've been shooting dry fire shots between chronied live fire shots. Sometimes a single dry fire between shots, sometimes as many as five dry fires between live shots. I'm assuming the air expenditure is about the same between the two. Is this a correct assumption? Do dry fire shots use about the same amount of air as a live shot?

Thanks,
Brian

I imagine it would be ok when rough adjusting a gun, but I would also think the back pressure of the pellet might reduce the air consumption some too. I'm curious to know what others think.

no point in shooting nothing..lol
99% of the time it's the shooter, not the gun.

Yes, it is the same as shooting pellets. I've compared them side by side and they are the same.

You can shoot a pellet every 4th shot with 3 dry fires in between to get decent models of your shot strings.
