New pump making noise, normal?

Postby ladra » Wed Nov 12, 2014 9:12 pm

Hello,

I just got my first .25 mrod and the Benjamin hand pump. From the get-go, the pump was making a noise when it reached the very bottom during the pumping motion. I can't really describe the sound, it's like a whining noise. It seems to make the noise more often when I go a bit faster, not that I pump fast. Is this a normal sound from a brand new pump? Thanks in advance for your assistance in this matter.

it's all those poor little air molecules being crushed to death crying.
99% of the time it's the shooter, not the gun.

Ya...its normal.
FYI if you boost that pump with a compressor......you cut the pumping in half. Research it lots has been written about the many methods of doing it and it is cheap and simple.
Enjoy your gun.

Thank you Sandspike. I'm actually in the process of getting the parts for the boost mod. Getting a 5 gallon tank on Craigslist for $10... :)
