That sounds more like a "bottle" than a "tank."

Just remember, a discount for buying used now means replacement cost comes ealier, as there is less time left on the tank's hydro-test and overall life. Just something to keep in mind, if you find you're looking at close to new prices for a used one.

What's your size preference? Are you looking for it to be your main tank or are you just looking for a small portable bottle to supplement big tanks that you already have? If it's going to be your only tank, something more like a 17cu.ft. might be as small as you want to go. Still easily portable but will hold enough air for extended testing sessions for a half-day. For purely hunting needs, it should last considerably longer.

NeuRon is on the right path with the warning about lifespan. For the most part it is 15 years...but look and be sure. Divide cost by years left for a cost of ownership on a per year basis. Then go and look at new, and the used one cost better be less per year than new. Now given how cheap and or shortsighted some folks can be, there is usually an upturn in the per year cost when life left gets to a year or three. Cost out the door is less, but you go through it more often and it is as expensive as it looks.

I'd you have your own compressor then I would just get a 90ci bottle from addicted 2 air guns ans be done with it. You have the luxury of topping if off when you come back from shootings

Hi there I'm newly registered on the forum and a new Marauder owner. I received my rifle earlier last week and now it is sitting pretty in my closet. Am looking for a cheap version of an air tank and I know that 3000 psi scubas aren't gonna cut it. I checked airhog.com and looked at the 17cu/f tank for $299. It will provide 11 fills from 3000 down to two. That's 176 shots total according to their calculator. Is it possible to just get a paintball tank? They are literally almost four-times cheaper!
