Just wondering if any body knows what to do for my benjamin pump. Every thing looks ok other than pitting on the shaft and the orings are good. But when I start pumping it becomes very hard on the upstroke. I somebody can help id appreciate it otherwise im getting the hill...FTW!!!!!

Not really. Pitting usually means the pump is just about dead.

But let me know if you want to part with it, I could use the internals for a project.

Well I switched that little problem oring with the plastic ring which holds it in place. I'm not sure if it matters but since I switched it back to it's proper position the pump works again...I'll see how long it lasts. If I decide to sell it I will surely list it on here first

I've changed the #007 oring on the innermost rod 8 times. Go ahead and change it but if your pump is like mine it will last for about 2 fills. sorry to be such a nancy but I HATE MY PUMP.

Lets see, you lost $200 on the benji pump and now you may inject another $300 into a Hill? I realize the Hill is a good pump but it is still a pump. I think you would have been better off to fork out the $ and get a Shoebox or a good HP tank from the get go. Seriously, I have a hard time trying to figure out the hand pump thing. So much money for a turbo charged bicycle pump that seems to only last a little while, requires regular maintenance/servicing which injects moisture into your gun only to ruin in in the long run all while letting you pump until your eyes bulge out of their sockets for 30 shots? No question about it, HP tank filled locally if this service is available to you.

I had problems with the Benjamin until I made my air drying/supercharging setup. Now the pump lube lasts much longer and no more o-ring wear.

I had a slight leak in my rifle's fill port so I drained the reservoir. On refill, I adjusted the supercharge to 45 PSI initially, lowering the supercharge pressure as pumping became difficult. It took me 110 strokes on the Benjamin pump to get to 3000 PSI I still had 25 PSI of supercharge at 3000 PSI final pressure. Should take 25 strokes to refill from 2000 to 3000 PSI now.

WATER is the enemy of silicone grease. It destroys the lubricating quality and essentially steam blasts the o-rings. Feeding the pump with the driest air is key to longevity. Desiccation of air at 80 PSI over 4A molecular sieves results in a dewpoint less than -40 F (or C, they are the same there).
