Where to buy silicone grease

Postby spclark » Mon Jan 26, 2015 10:24 am

So I finally did what others have done....I knew it would eventually happen. I didn't close the bolt all the way and dry fired the gun to put it away. Of course it blew the breach seal out. Due to all the great info on this forum, I was able to get it back in without much fuss, but I could NOT find any hardware or auto store that had silicone grease. I ended up buying a small can of WD Silicone lubricant. So...where do you buy this stuff?

Thanks PB. I saw the permatex stuff at Pep Boys but saw nothing on it saying it was silicone. From the online specs, it appears that it is.

I've been using the Permatex 22058 Dielectric Tune-Up Grease and it works great! I've fully rebuilt several dozen Marauders using it with nothing but good results.

Before I used the Trident silicone divers lube and it work great too, but is quite a bit more expensive for the amount you get.

Go to the "O-RING STORE". They have a number of 100% silicone lubes and you can also buy all the Marauder O-Rings at a fraction of the cost of other suppliers. Most are 10 cents each.

I used the Silicone Faucet grease from Home Depot, but when it runs out I am just going to use the bulk dielectric grease I already had on hand. Don't know why I thought it was different.

WD USES A PETROLIUM LIQUID TO SUSPEND THE LESS THAN 5% (NOT EVEN SILICONE)..WITH A PROPANE PROPELENT....

THE STUFF IS CRAP..USE IT TO LUBE YOUR TRASH CAN
99% of the time it's the shooter, not the gun.
