.22 New MRod Supposed to rattle?

Howdy all,
I just opened up the new box sent by pyramydair. One big thing I noticed is that the gun rattles inside the barrel or tank, but directly underneath where the stock sling screw is located. Does anyone else have this rattle when the gun is empty?

Their is a little piece inside the male foster fitting will rattle when rifle has low or no air in the air tube. Put a higher fill and see if it stops.Sorry I don't know the name of that piece. I think it closes back inside the male foster fitting to keep air from escapeing. Or another thot maybe the striker inside the hammer area is rattleing- check to see if it does when or with rifle is cocked. If ya really want to know for safety issue call Crosman when in doubt.... I really don't think ya got a problem with your new rifle. Hope that helps. :D

Do you think it's the check valve?

My 22Mrod had a loose stock screw that made a rattling noise.

Did you tighten it...?
I thought my .25 Mrod had something loose too - turned out just the baffles.

Yeap, there's a check valve in the front end cap assembly. Also make sure the shroud is tight by turning it CW, but first loosen the end cap a little, then retighten it. This will also ensure the baffles are tight inside. Steve

Yep, so I gave it a shot of air, and it must have been the check valve... no more rattle. =)
