Just wondering because recently I've started leaving my end cap loose and I thought maybe I'm see slightly better groups and less drifting between shooting sessions. Maybe just a fluke too 
Seems like the Gen 2 guys are having less accuracy problem issues than the Gen 1, maybe the spring loaded baffle system is more forgiving than the non-sprung.

I already converted several of my Gen I baffle systems to the Gen II with the spring. It did not make any difference in my POI shifting either way - except that the Gen II baffle set-up seems quieter to me.

Doc, if the spring, between the air stripper and the baffles (Gen 2), were replaced with a much lighter spring that would just hold the baffles in place, do you think that would help?

you do not want baffles moving.

Just wrap some tape around them so they fit snug in the shroud and ditch the spring.

my internal crimp ring system eliminates pressure against the barrel. keeps the baffles as a solid stack during shroud removal too.
99% of the time it's the shooter, not the gun.

Thats what I was eluding to. If the crimp ring has got your stack of baffles locked in place then the end of my air stripper may not even be touching the first baffle. Then if you run the shroud backed a tad you have even more of a gap. Sounds like a little measuring is in order..That would be a good job for DR650 since he has his rifle apart pretty regularly.

If you are doing a mod that would put space in the front shroud between the shroud mount and the baffles, this would allow the front shroud mount to move as the gun is shot - you might want to loctite it to the barrel as part of that plan.

My stock stripper is tight on the barrel and doesnt move.
