Postby airgunner » Thu Feb 26, 2015 11:02 am

a.k.a. Breech Gasket 130-036. I am ordering a bunch of gaskets from the oring store and the only one I don't have the size is the transfer port. could someone tell me the size?

thank you.

I have not been able to find any replacement for the transfer port seals (and I have tried). Those are the only ones I buy from Crosman for $2.50 a pair - ouch.

What some do is cut their own from ice maker tubing. I've not yet developed enough skill to cut them straight, but others have.

doesn't a SAE 008 sized O-ring work in a pinch?

I believe it's a 007 square -10 cents each. I have some ordered from the O ring Store, but tracking says package is lost since shipping on the 16th ( 11 days now? ).When it gets here I will compare it to the Crosman seal.

Either coincidence or squeaky wheel got greased, O rings showed up.
Looks like it's a match. # 007 Buna 70 SQUARE- Tetraseals Model SN70007 @ .10 ea.
I now have 11 of them, my O ring collection grows, If someone needs a couple in a pinch I can help out, Have all the rings for- Mrods, Prods and B50's, not sure about all for FDPCP though ;)
Now if Brown shows up with my lathe oils I can get back to setting up my "new" South Bend 9" :D

That's good news! $2.50 for 25 is way better than $2.50 for 2 from Crosman.

Most the important ones on the FDPCP are 113 - same as the P-rod, but I used the urathane o-rings since that is what they came with from the maker.

Have you rebuilt a B50? What material o-rings did you use? I'm disassembling my new B50 as we speak and so far most are black like buna. Only the one on the bolt is clear/white like urathane. I have not yet removed the hammer, valve, or fill assembly so I have not yet seen the o-rings on the valve or fill assembly.

I'd rather switch to buna 70 but the way the XISCO valves seal, installing the valve without nicking the o-ring between the screwed-together valve parts is not easy. Or maybe I'll have to buy one of those 16" long flat-head screwdrivers from Harbor Freight and tighten the valve after it is installed. I was able to install my XS60CPCP valve with a snug valve but I used urathane o-ring which are very tough.

All I've done is lube the bolt on the Bam, and clean the barrel. I haven't tore it apart- yet. When it breaks I'll tear it down. It's just so fun to shoot those tiny little pellets!
I had to order a #269 that was $12 locally so I got the list of Orings from The Book and ordered those and took a chance on the Rod breech seals.
My Synrod just developed a big leak @ the gauge block, good thing I have a couple spare .25's as I'm trying to set up my 9" SB. Hopefully I'll be producing transfer port tubes in a week 8-) .

I was hoping to shoot it stock first, but I'm sure it is too loud to shoot in the "backyard"

I decided to clean the barrel and check for transfer port burr then figured I might as well go all the way. I'm stuck on the infamous #26 screw (needs heat to remove as it is loc-tited in) and I must degas to remove fill assembly. I wish it were as easy to degas the XISCO airguns as it is to degas the Marauder.

There is gunk and the o-rings are old and have taken a set, so I'll install the "new" ones that came with it.

I really like 177 caliber PCPs! Of course, I would not give up 22 or 25 caliber and I may end up with something bigger, like 308 or 357, down the road too.

I thought I read somewhere that "the open the check valve then slow bleed" works for degassing the 50. As the check valve is in the Foster,
unlike the FDPCP ;)
When I get my lathe set up and practice making threads, I'll try my hand at a shroud for the 50. First though is transfer ports. Mrods and Bams.
