The first two tins I opened and inspected were CN121126.90061.12, these all look good.

then I read dunk's post and go inspect the remaining 6 tins, these are all CN130111.96803.13.

In this "lot" 4 of the 6 tin's have many pellets that have dinged skirts, in the other 2 tins, some pellets have a mark more shiny spot in the same area as the dinged pellets that I can't really feel with my finger nail...I think these 2 tins will be fine.

I'm wondering if maybe something happened with mold alignment during the run...

I'm curious to see if everyone's damaged pellets have the same CH number as yours, as everyone seems to have gotten them at the same time.

Just checked all of mine. There were 2 tins shrink wrapped together and they are the screw on lids. All 4 tins are from CN130111.96803.13. All 4 tins had numerous bad pellets. Several had the mark so bad that the pellet was deformed into a football shape. Hoping H&N or PA makes this right. Just for kicks I went through a tin of CPHP. 1 was questionable. Prod does not like them but they look good ;)

Dunk, thanks for checking your tins and posting. It looks like the bad pellets are all coming from the same lot number.

Barry it looks like that. I have little doubt that PA and H&N will take care of it. The question becomes will they in the future be able to produce the pellets we are use to in enough quantity to be readily available. As for myself, when loading my P-rod magazine I cannot inspect every pellet. I have to be confident that one is like the next. It is not un-common for me to spend a day shooting a 500 rnd tin in one sitting. Being retired and having the funds makes it possible. Hope they get it straightened out. Time will tell. Be safe!

The biggest problem I see is if something happened to the mold to cause the deformities. If this is the case and the have to make a new mold , the pellets from the new mold will not be the same. Then the search for the best pellet will start over. Hopefully it will be a minor fix.

I just spoke with PA, they have the lots info so hopefully they will pull the bad lot.

Is PA going to replace the pellets you bought? If so, ask them to send you a shipping label. Let us know what the replacement pellets look like. Thanks hopefully it is only one batch that has the bad pellets

Barry,

PA didn't offer and I didn't ask the pellets be replaced. Honestly this is not really PA's issue, it would have been nice if PA did replace them but then it's out of their pocket. What I would have liked is that PA contacted H&N and had THEM replace my pellets.

When sorting is all said and done I think I'll have one full tin of bad pellets, I posted pictures of the large amount of lead shavings and number of bad pellets from the first tin sorted on GTA vendor's forum if anyone would like to have a look. tin #2 is WORSE.....

I don't know what they are going to do. I e-mailed PA and H&N. I got a response from Eric at PA
Hi Paul
Yes please send pictures I should be able to get you out a tin.
Thank you
Eric

I also got one from

Hello Mr Hammons,

Thank you for the photos.
This is definitely not OK and not normal.
I will figure out the best way to send you replacement.
In any case: Pyramyd will remove all tins of this batch from the storage.

Thanks again for you help.

Best regards

I sent Eric a reply that I would like all 4 tins replaced with a different lot number. I really don't want to sit down and try to sort a couple thousand pellets and determine which ones might shoot ok and which not. They are welcome to the defective tins. Crossing my fingers BUT? I also sent them both plenty of photos.
Also I never did mention the shavings but yea, lots.
