IMO, the .25 benefits the most from the Polymags on small game. Having the .25 Polymag stay in the squirrel (body shot) is no small task. To make things that much better, all of the .25's energy is transferred into the squirrel, meaning body shots are all you'll need for an instant drop.
I've had a squirrel take a bad hit to the face with a .22 Polymag and then choke on it as I put another in him. They certainly still do better damage than a dome but you just haven't experienced them properly until you've tried them in .25.
On squirrels, it's like a fastball slamming into the catcher's mitt.
