MRod or Sumatra 2500??

Postby Point Doc on Thu Nov 11, 2010 2:12 pm

Greetings from San Diego, Ca.

New here and to modern air rifles.

I have been researching PCP 0.25 air rifles and it has come down to the above mentioned rifles. Could members please share their thoughts about both and even suggest others?

Thanks,
John

All of my Air Rifles are .22, But If I Was getting another one in .25 It would be either a MRod or a Airforce Condor. Both are awesome guns out of the box.

My only issue with .25 is the cost of pellets.

Hi Doc,

The Marauder in .25 is a very good choice. Out of the box it should shoot well, and well tuned it will get even better. Crosman customer support is very good so if you have problems or you need parts, you will be happy it's a Crosman. I don't know about Sumatra customer support but it's a lot further away (Korea) and they probably sell a lot fewer guns than Crosman sells Marauders.

Happy shooting,

Scott

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your reply. I am going to get the MRod .25. My primary use will be for turkeys.

I have been doing research about mods and plan on doing a few. I have access to a full machine shop to perform these mods and have a couple in mind.

I have both. Havnt spent a lot of time with them though. I would sat the Sumatra is equally accurate as the mrod .25, but is louder and heavier. More shot per fill with the Sumatra 500cc. I like them both very much.
