I wanted to purchase an LDC aluminum shroud that is empty to try and see what baffles work best to quiet my Mrod. anyone know where to find ones for the Mrod cheap?

I'll tell you what has worked best for me.
Larger volume and longer length.
The downside is your gun gets longer too.
SHOOTIN'IT's stripperless idea works well too - where the first stripper cone is out in front of the muzzle not attached to the end of the muzzle.
Gen II rear-pointing cone baffles with the spring work better than the Gen I cylendar baffles with o-ring.

Thanks Ray. I think I'll try the air stripper idea just to see. Any ideas on the ldc body though? really don't want to pay full price for a shroud extension or moderator if I'm just gonna gut them for testing. Machine shops out this way aren't abundant and the ones that do small custom jobs requires orders of at least 250pcs or more. If only I had a lathe and actually knew what to do with one...

No I want a suppressor style shroud extension. I was looking into WAR's end cap adapter with 1x28 male threads. this may be what I need so I can use the airsoft mock suppressor that have a hollow interior. the hard part is knowing which ones allow access to the interior of the can. most don't post that on the product description.

Try this. Buy some extra Marauder Baffles. Make a simple block that slide over your barrel. Put it on the barrel behind the rear shroud block. Add extra baffles. Reassemble. Shoot.
As to just buying some aluminum tube, McMaster or Ebay. I bought a couple pieces for making LDCs off Ebay. I used Marauder baffles and springs in them. LOL. I do have a lathe though for making the end cap for the tube, and the part that clamps on the barrel and the spring rests against. You can also make stuff like that with a drill press if you are creative, but its a huge pain. You have to make stuff to make stuff. That's why I got a lathe. LOL.

I don't want to mess with LDCs, they are surely illegal in California - as is just about everything else....

Bob I actually tried using an existing LDC I had laying around with 7baffles with some padding to keep them in place and centered and while the baffles were in place it reduced the rifles sound report very nicely and I was recording on average a 84-88db range with each shot which kind of surprised me. This was with all settings maxed out and indoors. And since all good things come to an end, I ended up having a baffle strike a few mags later:( just as I began to revel at my new little LDC. Sighs
