Hey RayK, put one right between those litte eyes or ears that o'le tree rat will fill the love of hot lead. I know what ya are saying about being tough as nails to shoot some of those tree critters. I've shot'em all with everything ya can and have some harder that others to kill or harvest through the yrs.RayK wrote:You'd be amazed what a squirrel can take and keep going. I had one take four pellets before he fell over.
Yes, I know shot placement, but I'm shooting these guys at 40 yards.

Slayer1962- man are you ever so right about the 25 cal mrods. I know it has alot to do with the ammo size meaning more mass to the target. Not to mention the power output of these rifle are flat out awsome. It may not be as fast in speed but it sure does makeup for it in punch. meaning lights out for the furry critters for sure.....slayer1962 wrote:funny you guys started this thread. I posted I wanted a .25 to stop crawlers and people blasted me. lol
I had marginal luck with .177 even at close range. the .22 worked 90% of the time with squirrels making it less than 5 yards. Most .25 shot squirrels seem to go lights out. I even tried a chest shot to see what happend and the squirrels drop. I think .25 is great squirrel medicine!
