Look at the Weaver Classic V or Super Slam scopes. They are made in Japan by the same company that builds Bushnell Elite. The 40/44 series allows you to get aspherical glass under $200. Only the higher mag models have AO or side focus.
I had a Leapers scope that was supposed to be parallax corrected at 35 yards, but an actual range test revealed it to be a 100 yard parallax scope. As well, my Hawke scope has inaccurate AO. It is accurate at infinity, but for 100 yards you must set it at 300 yards, for 50 yards it must be set at 150 yards, and for 25 yards it must be set at 50 yards. Weaver and Burris scopes have accurate AO that agrees exactly with a laser rangefinder. Chinese scopes are notorious for AO scale inaccuracy.
It doesn't cost much more to get a Japanese or Burris scope and get rid of Chinese scope problems. I have yet to see a Chinese scope that has the multicoating quality of a Burris or good Japanese scope. Private labeled scopes sold by Cabelas and made in China were notably inferior to a good Japanese scope or a Burris when I checked them side by side. Nikko Stirling, Hawke, Leapers, CenterPoint and such are marketing brands for Chinese scopes that come out of the same huge Chinese factory. The generic green coatings are giveaways for Chinese glass. Look at the coatings in a Burris, Nikon or such and you will see a big difference.
