when I get the valve back, I will take a pic of it side by side with an OE 22 cal valve. drills stuck into the flow passages so y'all can get some idea of what is required to deliver high energy at reasonable efficiency...:) hopefully I will get the PEEK valves done soon, the wait will kill me otherwise and I have a wee demo scheduled on the 5th of October.
cheers,
Douglas

Can't find much on Peek valve. Someone who looks like they're making them has a web site that's seems down. Some where else I heard they are made from Ti. Any info on the valve?

valve poppet made with a PEEK head. tolerates a larger throat on a thinner sealing face. Made by me( well...for me ).

Peek is another plastic related to teflon or delrin.

I have gotten into the habit of taking anything I don't know and plugging it into Google...I can see how I managed to create a bit of confusion. PEEK is about 2x the strength of the Delrin used in the stock valve heads. When you shrink the seat width( with a larger throat diameter ) you take it into a loading where it will creep and deform a bit. The 5.5 or 6mm porting I expect to be able to run( at least 5.5mm ) with a throat size requiring PEEK should net some serious power. Just a matter of hitting it hard enough with a hammer heavy enough to keep it open long enough.

The Marauder is quite short on hammer travel compared to some really high power guns, and I hope to avoid having to do any tube mods to make it significantly longer.

are you using the .25 cal TJ liner ? with you bored out valve to make all this power ?
looking forward to seeing the results.
i have a .357 TJ liner sitting at Jim Gaska's to be machined
was going to make a .357 Mrod (my version of the Rogue) but have changed directions, already have too many big bores now
if any one is interested it is available, also have an LW .357 barrel

PakProtector wrote: A 1/2" OD .25 Auto liner from TJ in 26" length, 53 gr boolits from either a 252435 Lyman or a 25-050-RN RCBS and a valve like mine will take you to ~100 FPE. Other stuff should include a 110 gram hammer and a 15# hammer spring. The TJ barrel has shown ability to still handle pellets, and it is possible to significantly reduce both hammer strike and fill pressure and shoot at half the boolit energy efficiently.
cheers,
Douglas

Sounds interesting. What are you doing instead of the Rogue-like gun? And have you made a 257 yet?
