I changed a few things on my 25 cal

Postby rgratton08 on Sun Sep 19, 2010 1:07 pm

I fixed my stock with bed truck liner, bedding, adjustable comb and adjustable but pad. Then I turned down a 1022 muzzle brake on my lathe to replace the end cap. I used a k drill to bring the inside diameter to 281-283 on the muzzle brake. Then I ordered some73 grain hollow points from mrhollowpoint.com. I would post pictures but I don't know how. Hope this works http://s1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc4 ... rumphotos/

Wow! Gun looks great man! I like the muzzle brake a lot! Never thought about that, but the threaded shroud would seem to make it fairly agreeable to that mod.

The muzzle brake has no effect but to localize the noise near you making it hard for small game to tell from witch direction the shot was taken. And it just looks bad ass.

Really like what you did --muzzle brake. Is there a way to get one. Joseph

I used a muzzle brake from a 10/22 ruger ( http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=3251 ... OMPENSATOR ) and drilled it out with a k bit for caliber, Also I turned the base down on a lathe then threaded it to fit. So you can make one if you know what you are doing. I have since put a cloth cover around the muzzle brake to further quite the sound. I also made some new teflon baffles so now it shoots at about 72-74 decibels.

Looks awesome! Adding photos is a snap, just cut and paste (right mouse click) the image code from photobucket into your post/thread, done. Cheers. Steve
