replacement hammer spring

it has been suggested over on yellow that you can replace your hammer spring with this one : MSC Supply compression spring part # 06812143

it's wire is larger in diameter so it will be a stronger spring. Might help get that 3000 psi starting pressure.

I will probably try one later this year.

Hi Dogwood,

I would really like to try out this aftermarket spring. I will take 2 of these if you want to split the order. PM me if that sounds good.

Regards,
Scott

Popped in a new spring, was able to gain an additional 30-40 fps with the Kodiaks (880-900) and more consistent shot string from a 3k fill.
only 4 turns on it and cocking effort is about the same as with the stock spring maxed out.

MSC does a lot of coupons and free shipping deals. Try looking them up at retailmenot.com.

Free shipping for orders over $25 until 6/7/10. You can buy a crescent wrench or whatever, and not end up spending much more than what the springs and shipping would cost you.

it's actually quite easy, if you have a scope on the gun, take it off. next you'll need to pull the bolt, remove the action from the stock, remove the bolt index screw (or what ever it is called) the big slot screw on the top of the receiver, then remove the hex bolt under that. after that flip the gun over and remove the hex bolt from the rear of the trigger mechanism, be careful as this will allow the rear piece to pop off.

when you remove that the main spring will probably come out with it, if not you should be able to see it and pull it out by hand

hope that helps
