when you remove that the main spring will probably come out with it, if not you should be able to see it and pull it out by hand

hope that helps

Bolt Index Screw is what I have called the Bolt Tension Screw. You don't have to remove it. I think I only backed it out 2 or three turns. There's a ball bearing and spring in there.

Hi Jared,

I installed the spring and tested it briefly. It was much stronger than the spring in my 22 so it wased a bunch of air and it did not push the pellet much faster. At that time I did not want to introduce another variable into the mix and restart my velocity testing because I was in the middle of barrel testing. However, this winter, I plan to reinstall and dial back my pretenstion or hammer stroke to see if I can get better results with my standard deviation for velocity.

Regards,
Scott

sounds like a good mod for .25 no? I have .25 with everything maxed out pushing over 900 ft per second now. If I could get another 50 ft per second I would be happy!. (happier)

JSB exacts I think 25 grain may be 26.
I do not think I am going to mess with the spring yet.
I waited months before maxing out my settings to see who did what first. lol

Has anyone tried one of these springs on a 25 cal? And if so, what kind of gain(s) did u get?

I heat treated my .25 spring a over the weekend. 450 degrees for 40 minutes then let cool for 30 minutes. I noticed the pellet hitting the board a little harder, I dont have a chrony yet but I could tell there was a little more oomph than before.
