James linthicum stock

Postby dogwood on Tue May 25, 2010 10:54 am

I hate the stock stock, it just doesn't fit my hand, cramps my hand up to shoot with it.

So I decided to get a James Linthicum laser thumb-hole stock - I paypal'd my order in and emailed the required spec sheet on Friday evening (PST) (happy birthday to me :D )
haven't heard a thing - not even an acknowledgment of the payment. :?:

anyone else have any dealings with him? is this normal for him?

I think this is par for the course for him. If you search the yellow airgun forums for his name you will find many, many posts. As best I can tell he always delivers, it's just you never know when he will deliver. He does make a nice stock though.

I ordered a stock from James on Monday, I paid him in advance using Pay Pal, this is safer for both parties, if he doesn't deliver, Pay Pal will go to bat for you. That being said, I had a long conversation with him, I don't think you have any worries, James seems very honest and wants to do the best work for his clients. Post a picture of your new stock when you get it and I'll do the same.

Happy Trails, Don

Thanks Don, wasn't too worried, had read many a good thing about both James and his stocks.
Just so used to getting an almost immediate response from net transaction (spoiled I know :D ) that it made me wonder.

Which stock did you go with?

will most definitely post a picture.

I went with the Sable as shown on his web site. Grey with black tips. I asked him to pick through his stock of blanks and find me the lightest in weight, he's also going to do some hollowing out to lighten it further. My only complaint with the Mrod is it's heavy weight.

Hey Dogwood;

Did you ever get that Sable stock from James Linthicum ?

I Emailed him a while ago, and got some info back with pic's and pricing for a couple stocks that were already made
that some one evidently backed out of, and emailed him back in 2 or 3 day's saying I'd take one. Just needed to know total and Paypal info to get the money to him....

And I never heard another word from the guy.
Seem's a little flakey to me.

Nope still waiting, still within the resonable time yet.
Yeah he doesn't seem to be the best business guy, but everything i've read makes me believe I will get my stock, just can't be in a hurry.

Seems like the best way to deal with him is via the phone
