Anyone using Greg Davis' reservoir tube extension?

Postby RayK on Wed Jun 16, 2010 9:18 pm

Hi all.

Greg's extension adds 72.11cc to the 215cc of the normal Marauder tube.

Does anyone have direct experience with this tube?

I'd like to hear your results and, of course, which caliber Marauder you have it mounted on.

I have paid for one....LOL.... that is my experience so far! I'm in line to have mine tuned and the reservoir extension added. I have about 5 more weeks according to his original backlog estimate. Greg says it extends the "sweet spot" where you get your best accuracy.

I paid for one also back in the first few days of April. Mines for a .22. I only ordered a tube and not a tune so maybe I don't have priority or he's just that backed up making them? Greg acknowledged receipt of my payment 2 months ago so I guess it just hasn't been my turn yet.

The extension will add an extra 1/3 capacity so I'm expecting at least another magazine from a fill and yes the smoother shot string. Pretty neat stuff.

Though I try not to think about it, everytime the mailman or Brown comes to my house I start salivating hoping todays the day.

I have emailed Greg asking him about placing an order for one, this was on the 14th of this month. Have not had a response back yet, but this could be because of his backlog. Honestly, if he is that backlogged, I personally don't think I would pay for anything and wait 5+months for product to arrive. After reading about them on his site, it sounded like he had them available for sale. Wonder if he makes them as they are ordered. One huge production run sounds like a better way of doing it. I will just wait until I receive an email back from Greg to see what the wait time would be.

Although it would be nice to get more volume, it may not be worthwhile for the 25 caliber.

I calculated that if it is 25% larger, then instead of 16 good shots, I would get 20 - only 4 more shots.

I suspect it is more worthwhile with the smaller caliber Marauders.

I ordered mine in end of April and recieved it 2 weeks ago- e-mailing Greg doesn't work so well(same as Mac1) direct call to his wife Zodie will get results- prepay and wait patiently- he jumps from rifle tunes to fabricating parts- and is only 1 person-Raould will join him shortly(end of Aug) and should help speed up things. I plan to combine mine with the Audrious reg. I already have and go for max shot count and performance. Was getting 60 good shots pryor to adding extension, but just bent the**** out of my barrel, so now waiting on new one and re-tuning it**arg!!!

This is good to know about the emailing. Since I work night shift the last thing on my mind is using the phone before or after work. Making a note to call on Monday so I do not forget. :ugeek:
Thank you or that info.

Bought, paid for, received and working fine on the rifle.

Haven't run a string to see how many more shots I will get but it fits well, looks nice and is not leaking.
