Smoothing out flow thru the Rifle's Valve

Postby hill » Sun Feb 09, 2014 1:04 pm

Since I leave my VAS wide open anyway, I thought I'd try something out.

I put loctite on a brass set screw then thread it into the VAS hole. After letting it sit for 24 hours or more, I then drill into the exhaust port, removing the protruding brass portion. This allows for a smoother flow through the exhaust portion of the valve.

Here are some pictures of the results;

No, I just recently started trying this. If you want this done to your valve, just let me know. My email is; [ This Banned users email address has been blocked by Forum Admin]

Some may want to keep the option of being able to adjust the velocity of the shot string up or down.

This will be added to the list of options, along with throat size, and exhaust port size. Smoothing out the sharp edges from just past the throat and through the exhaust port ( to smooth out air flow ) are standard features.

If I had a guess I would say its and oversized valve that allows you to put a larger pressure tube under a Marauder action...

RayK
shorty

You two have written about how one of the tunes you like is: lower power ( but not too low ), with a long shot count, and I think you will see how to stretch out the shot count even more, by increasing the E.S. with a higher fill pressure.

Anyway, what do you guys ( and everyone else - feel free to pitch in ) think about this tune ? ( there's more information in the video's description ).
