Custom Stocks...

Postby Tattoo Jack on Mon Oct 18, 2010 10:19 am

HI Everyone,

Well I love my Mrod .22, the accuracy is AWESOME right out of the box! I haven't even done anything to it except pump it up and shoot one holers @ 22-25 yds. BUT I hate the stock. I’ve done some searching, but haven’t found many makers for this model. I really like the oldish style stocks (I know, EVERYBODY else is into those fancy “thumb holes”, Laminates and such), I guess I’m just an old fart. I really like this stock http://qualitygunstocks.com/sablle-rollover.html BUT they seem to have an aversion towards Lefties! I even emailed them asking if they plan to ever offer this for left handed shooters. I assume, having received NO answer, that they aren’t.

Does anyone know of someone who would make a Stock like this? I don’t exhibit, or enter, my weapons in beauty contests, just use 'em for Killing Paper Circles and whacking pest, so I don’t need exotic woods (I have enough of that in my High End pool Cues), just a nice Monte Carlo, raised/rolled over Cheek Weld stock for an old South Paw.

GREAT website! Kudos to the Admin and the folks contributing, this is why I loooove the internet…

Best, Jack

I have seen a few custom stocks for the Marauders, but most seem to be DIY stocks.

If you have some woodworking skill, you could take your stock off, draw what you would like it to look like, then start cutting or rasping.

There are a few who have done this with good results. If you don't like the factory stock, what do you have to lose in trying?

I would be willing to do it to my own stock, but I don't mind the factory stock and I like the function of the checkering (not the look) which would be too much work for me to add on my self after trimming the stock.

Here is a great site for high quality Marauder Stocks that are fully finished, I think you will like what you find. http://www.airgunsoftexas.com/rifles/benjamin.asp The guy makes them for all sorts of Airguns, if you want something special email him and he will usually call you within a day or so if you give him your contact info.

I hope this helps.
