Need advice for rings

Postby kidcurrie on Thu Oct 21, 2010 6:24 am

I just received my Marauder and I got the Centerpoint 4-16 x 40 scope at Wally World for it. The scope comes with weaver style rings so i need to get some 11mm dovetail rings.
Anyone have this combo that can suggest rings that work? I would rather stay away from rings that have a size range (ie. 9mm - 12mm) as I figure it won't be centered on the bore.
thx,
Craig

The Centerpoint or Leapers 1" medium rings will work well with your scope.

If you want to be able to click the scope for long range shooting 85-100 yards may want to look into some special rings. If you are going to zero and just use mill dots then you don't need to do this. If you need the special rings then contact Tim at mac1 ask for split rings with 15 or 20 MOA. I just got some 30MM 20MOA rings from him today ;)
My Marauder .25 is getting some new glass :D I am going to set it up to be a long range hammer.

Burris signature rings are all I use on most of my rifles, and all my air rifles. With the rimfire/airgun version you will have to shim the clamp side of the mount between the scope rail, (receiver) you can use a cut up aluminum can, or brass shim stock to make the mount sit dead level. However the Burris plastic inserts with all of their adjustment makes them worth using, plus they never leave a ring mark, or shift zero. You will also need the insert kit with all three sizes, so add 9.95 to the price of the rings.

If you have a 30MM scope tube, you will have a problem, but you can get a RF to Weaver conversion mount for about 10 dollars and get the Burris signature 30 MM rings! Again you may or may not need to shim these conversion bases.
