Custom swaged hunting pellets

Postby 999 » Wed Mar 04, 2015 7:54 pm

Got a new batch of johninthecamper 22gr pellets that I have been using for hunting the past year on Jackrabbits. I had been using the jsb 18gr and the 21.14gr Baracudas with good results as well. He had told me could make them in any size, shape or weight so I went with .218 with a 1E nose that seems to work great out of the Marauder. These pellets put a nice thump down on rabbits, the hollow points even more so. Thought I would post as Im sure some would find interesting. 8-) These are some of the heavier grain ones compared next to JSB and Airbullet. Here is a 10 shot group@ 45yrds,not bad for hunting This is one of the HPs I recovered from a Jackrabbit I shot I call these my Lucky 22s because every time I use them I kill something!

Never heard of him. There is a guy over on the yellow that does the same thing but in the .25. His pellets are in such a demand he is weeks behind in filling orders. He goes by ratsniper and has a web site. I am surprised we have not heard about this before now.

Yeah,I know about the Ratsniper slugs! Have seen great results from them too. John can make any size, not just .25/ the tooling such as the press and dies for different head shapes and skirts such as a boat tail are very expensive. This guy has all the tooling to change size, weight etc,!! I will be heading to the Pacific Airgun show this weekend where he will be along with a few hundred more fellow airgunners. Good Swaged pellets are hard to come by,I'm happy to have found some that work great for my purpose :D

You, your gun, and your pellet are all shooting great!

Thanks for sharing!

Sounds like another great source of ammo - until he gets really popular.... ;)

Great that another source has been found and glad they are working for you.

Just another source for those of the do it yourself bent.

Look around the net there are multiple places to get information and materials needed to swage your own pellets and it is really very easy to do for those interested.
