Building Confidence in my baby

Howdy all,
A week into owning my .22, I'm finding that things aren't nearly as bad as I've expected. So far I've managed to shoot nickel groups at 30 yards, just by holding it up against the back porch post. I hoped to get to the range last weekend, but you know, life happens... Anyways, I am excited to get out there to really sight this sucker in at 50 and 100 yards. I love my scope, and even the Discovery 14.3 HP's are doing really good!

I think I'll just blow through this tin of 500 Discovery HP's and then move to something like a 18gr pellet. Maybe the box of Crosman 14.3's.. Who knows.

As for any mods, I've made one. I took the trigger weight adjuster screw and spring out of the gun, so that I can work with a near hair trigger. It's helped me go from 2" groups to nickel groups at 30 yards. I'm not sure if this is okay, but so far it has worked for me for the last 30 shots. Now to work on my breathing technique...

So, my verdict so far? I love it. I initially had feelings that I should have gotten the .25, but now those feelings are gone. This .22 has held a 2500 psi for the last few days, so no leaks. That was a big deal to me. So, I love my .22 MRod, I've been very pleased with it!

Which ones? 18's or 25's?

always remember that. don't go chasing ghost. all that matters is if you are satisfied, not if someone else is. it was your money that bought it.

I believe in gun control as long as I am the one controlling it. :)

well i would advise you to put a weaker spring to replace the factory one (a pen spring or so), i think that a spring there it's much more secure because it may happen something like the gun won't be well armed if the spring isn't there... If a spring is there (don't need to be very strong, just enought to handle the weight of the sear) to force the sear in position when arming the gun.

don't know if i made myself clear, if i didn't i'll put some pictures explaining...

Update: My confidence is completely restored, without an issue. After sighting H&N's 21.14's in a 50 yards the other day, I'm able to do some creative things here. Example, today, I spent about 10 rounds from 20 yards completely severing a sweet gum sapling tree, nearly 2" in diameter with JSB 25.4's. That sucker fell right over on the 10th round. Now to me, this is fun. Who needs to shoot animals, when you got branches and trees to play with?
