Shooting rest?

Postby bobadoo on Thu Feb 03, 2011 7:59 am

Again I am new to this sport and loving it. I have the Marauder .22. What would be the recommended shooting rest for shooting accuracy, chronograph pellet testing, long range field shooting and etc. I have just completed building a portable shooting table. Using blocks of wood and to support the rifle at present. Was going to try and fabricate a shooting rest. But could not find the necessary hardware to make elevation and windage adjustments. So, I shall purchase one at your recommendation.

Thanks Bob

Take a couple of your old cotton socks and fill it with rice, then use a heavy piece of 12-2 romex wire to cinch the ends. One for the barrel end, one for the butt end. Maybe make more for extra elevation.

Some Walmart stores sell cheap shooting bags (Winchester brand). I use a Cauldwell bag and butrest.

I went and bought a bag of playsand from home depot $3 and used an old long sleeve shirt. Cut the sleeves off of the shirt tied a knot in the one end. Then filled with sand and twisted the other end. Tied it up with some thin string and I have 2 sandbags that work great!!! Cheap and better than anything I have seen at the stores. Mine don't leak a single bit of sand either. I built my own table for outside to have as a "workstation when I'm shooting out of 2x4's and plywood..
