But it is 25 caliber, so I guess I'll have to move over to that sub forum.

I put a post about it there.

I'll be back when I get a 22 caliber!

Thanks to all for input in helping me select model and modifications.

You were right! I do love it!

I'm amazed at the power of the 25 Marauder.

And the accuracy is amazing!

I only shot 40 yards, but every group was a single ragged hole (once I got the scope sighted in).

I get about 16 pellets from 3000 psi down to 2100 psi, then I refill.

My buddy and I shot for several hours both refilling from my 3500 120 cubic feet scuba tank which was still around 3000 when we quit for the day.

We each shot a full 200 tin of Benmajin domed pellets. I washed and waxed mine (with Krytech wax lube) whereas my buddy was shooting the same pellets right out of the tin without any treatment.
Accuracy was clearly better with the clean lubed pellets and my buddy tried them in his gun too with noticeable improvments in his group, so he is going to start washing/lubing his pellets too.

Here is a short video that gives an overview of how to wash/lube pellets. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7WV7di85ow

Hi all.

Here is what I ended up buying:

The airgun:
25 Benjamin Marauder
4 extra 8 round 25 magazines

Air fill (by scuba tank):
Joe's DIN300 to foster for my 120 cubic foot 3500 psi scuba tank
3500psi 120 cubic foot steel scuba tank (I already had from scuba diving)

Optics:
Leapers Accushot 6-24x56AO SWAT Rifle Scope, Illuminated Mil-Dot Reticle, 1/8 MOA, 30mm Tube
UTG 30mm Rings, Medium, 11mm Dovetail
Leapers Accushot SWAT Side Wheel For Range Estimation, 80 mm

Pellets:
Benjamin .25 Cal, 27.8 Grains, Domed http://www.pyramydair.com/s/p/Benjamin_ ... _200ct/808
JSB Match Diabolo Exact King .25 Cal, 25.4 Grains, Domed http://www.pyramydair.com/s/p/JSB_Match ... escription

Specific modifications:
vinyl depinger added
melamine foam added to baffles

Pellets travel around 850 feet per second and are one ragged-hole accurate out to 50 yards.

Thanks for all the advice in helping me refine my purchase! I am very happy with the results!

I don't yet have a bipod, but this set-up really calls for one.

Today, I did Jeff's trigger modification. It was very easy and the results are great. I can understand why they install that extra spring - most likely for liability reasons, but removing it only makes the trigger into an awesome "match" trigger.

I just wanted to add that the JSB pellets are much more precice than the Benjamin pellets, plus you don't need to clean the JSBs, whereas you must wash and lube the Benjamins if you want them clean.
The precision is more obvious as you shoot longer range - e.g., over 40 yards.

JSB Match Diabolo Exact King .25 Cal, 25.4 Grains, Domed.

Howdy Ray,
I'm new to the MRod .22, and I'm looking to settle into a good heavy .22 pellet. The JSB Match Diabolo Exact Jumbo Monster 25.4 you speak of, I have questions. Do they fit okay in the magazine? Also, since this post in August, are you still happy with this pellet?

thanks,
Randall

Greetings Randall,
You may want to think about range and your target. For me, I was using the 21g Barracudas for some time. I found the 18g JSBs gave better groups at 50 yards and higher velocities. I tweaked the settings and I am now getting over 900fps with the 18g pellets. However, with the 21g pellets the FPS is just over 820. I wanted to have a flatter trajectory for groundhogs, and other varmints. It just depends on what your need is and what your barrel likes better.
Blessings,
Jeff

If you have a .22, then no. He is referring to the .25 M-rod.
