What pellet do you like to use when hunting squirrel or rabbit?

Hi Walt,

The heaviest pellet that shoots straight. :D

No seriously every gun is different, the H&N Barracudas (21 grn) and JSB 18.1 jumbo heavies work in my guns and they are favorites for many shooters. The JSBs are a little softer and will generally give good deformation. But either pellet will work good. JSB makes a 25 grain monster that shoots pretty straight in my gun.

I like these the best. These are the 18.1grn. Diabolo Exact Jumbo Heavy.

They will hunt just fine.

Baracudas, JSB Jumbo, Jumbo Heavy and Monsters, and Predators all shoot well for me and have killed many squirrels.

IMHO, absolute No.1 are the Bisley WASP Magnum "slugs"!
30.3 grains, unbelievably accurate but a bit pricey.
They're made in UK, so I usually get them on eBay.

Cheers,
d.

Out here in California we have some areas where lead ammo is banned because it can be ingested by predators and carrion eaters (condors) from carcasses or gutpiles left in the field.

In these lead free zones, I will be trying out Dynamic's PCP2 tin alloy pellets. They group very well for me (my informal groups are 1/2" at 25 yards, but I think the pellet can group even tighter if I could somehow shoot better :D )

You can get them at Airguns of Arizona, or on eBay.

Otherwise it will be H&N Baracudas for me.

I looked on eBay for the Bisley WASP Magnum slugs but didn't find any on the US eBay or whatever they call it. I found them on the UK eBay but sure how they works with it being different currencies. Does paypal automatically convert that for you? Thanks for all the input from everyone. I have ordered some JSB heavys and H&N barracudas.

I agree. I barely want to shoot anything i can't get from my local stores, much less another country.

That's a good point. I still have to order anything I shoot but crosman premier because thats all the walmart carries. But Im not crazy about ordering from out of country. Main reason is shipping takes so long. Has anyone molded their own pellets and is it worth it?
