Jeff:

I had already seen your gun on that post. And it really looks good, I really like the GOB patch. I don't know if you saw my post today, on one of the FT type posts. But I am finally getting an actual FT stock. I'm supposed to pick it up tommorow at noon, it should be ready to shoot this weekend at a regional event.

To make a long post short, started with a used Abernathy stock $150, my best friend customized and refinished it for me, so I have less than 250 in it. I'll post it up as soon as I can.

After six months the gun now looks great, functions great, shoots fantastic, the only other thing I have to work on is "my consitancy"

Hey Guys:

Finally got my Mrod back. It turned out fantastic. I would like to post some pics and do have some. But me and computers do not talk the same language.

Right now I'm starting up a new Corp, so my IT guys are swamped with that project.

I would like to share the pictures, is there any short cut. I can probably Email them.

Help!

John:

I emailed the pics (I think) and thanks so much for posting them up. The reason is not to show it off, but to show everyone what can be done on a moderate budget and some work. I think I have had the gun for six months and now consider it completed.

I think the gun turned out great. But the bonus is how much better it shoots. I've ran about 200 rounds through it, and I am impressed with the results. I'm hitting within a quarter of an inch everytime at 25 yards.

The best way to describe it, is that it is a much easier gun to shoot accurately now. The guy I bought the stock from is an accomplished shooter and made some minor mods to the stock. Then my best friend Jim Sheffield that finished it out is one of the top shooters arround. And he made all the adjustments to fit me exactly.

Although it is very nice looking, I appreciate the increased accuracy most of all.

I know that very few of the readers on this board are into FT, but if the hunters, techno geeks, and paper punchers knew how accurate this gun is, they would get interested very quick.

Definitely the Nationals, The Redneck a strong possibility.

i'm very interested on see that too... i'm about to pick up a Greg Davis Tuned .177 MROD with LW barrel and i intend to use it to FT competition too. already have a Hawke Sidewinder 8.5-34x52 waiting and when i pick up the gun i'll start a match stock for it! i'm already designing a match trigger blade for it too. If she shoot's like Greg told me, this season there will be problems here in Portugal :P

regards

hope to see your rig soon

Bob's FT stock (pics)

Certainly my pleasure posting these for another forum member (Bob).

And I know what you mean about the accuracy being better with a custom tailored to fit you stock making an amazing difference. I am also lucky enough to have a friend who has "carved a couple of stocks". Having the rifle fit you instead of adapting as we all do to the one size fits all people, applications, airguns, stocks does allow you to shoot as well as you naturally could without fatigue starting on the first shot.
One of the first things Mick the fuzzy limey would tell anyone is "make that rifle fit YOU. Saw it, uses bondo, add wood, uses JB weld, anything you have to do to make it fit you", great guy Mick is. http://fuzzylimey.net/coachtalk/index.html
You need to be able to close your eyes, grab your fifle and get in position ( that is confortable and natural to you) open your eye and be right on target.
Anyway excelent group effort and an outstanding stock! Thank you for sharing.
