The old ones were breaking. I'm betting he is saying Crosman changed their manufacturing for that part due to the frequent breaks.

Waterjet cut out of a plate of steel would be the best for strength, but maybe too expensive for Crosman.

Now they need to put out a fix for the front swivel stud. Mine pulled right out. Crosman sent me a new stock and I set the old one back for them too study.
