To every mod/upgrade there is usually a negative result along with a more positive one. The guys that have actually done this mod can you tell me a negative result ? I know if the efficiency and quiet advantages but what negative ones may dissuade me from doing this ? Sorry for the long question but really want a thorough response. Thanks in advance

The Prod NBH may have issues with crosman's rather lax mfg tolerances. You might want to wait and get a SSG. Travis and others are working on getting some ready for production. For more detail, read: http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=102095.0

We fixed all issues with both the prod and mrod hammers by doing two things first we increased the diameter above a stock hammer to prevent any cocking in the tube thus eliminating gualing and hard cocking then on the mrod we made the shoe adjustable for travel to eliminate shoe over travel, these two things now have the NBH working 100% of the time.It took alot of work and testing but everyone knows I dont give up ever. I have sold over 200 of the new design with 0 returns to date.

NBH worked flawlessly in my heavy hitting Srod. It does what it claims to do.

I have an original NBH and haven't had any problems. With the War valve my .25 gets 16 shots 940-970-940 with Kings on a 2600-2700psi fill. Haven't checked lately but might have gone up, the more I shot it the higher the velocities went. Became more efficient over time. When Travis sent it back to me it was 900-930-900 for 16 shots.

Glad to hear you fixed the early problems with the Prod version. The website still says "coming soon", and never received an updated one to test, so didn't know there was a new and improved model.

IMO, the SSG is going to be less problematic by design, then relying on wings to jam against the side of the airtube. While a very unique and innovative design (wings held in place with magnets), the SSG is more conventional. Depending on implementation, some mrods/prods may not be able to use it, though. Specifically the Armada and Prods with M4 stock attachments. So, the NBH would be an option to consider on those.


Guys: I have no experience with Mrod NBH, only the prod version which was asked about here.
