Replacement barrel

The Benjamin Rouge in .357 caliber by Crosman is the first big-bore airgun to have an electronic valve to ensure both shot-to-shot consistency, and maximum shots per fill. This forum is a place to talk about the new rifle.

Replacement barrel update

Postby Walx » Thu May 24, 2012 11:10 am

Got a email from Jim a couple days ago and he has ordered a barrel and said he should have it headed my way about a week after he gets the barrel. He is going to have to build a sleeve for the barrel to fit into the receiver and build a new front barrel mount because the LW has a smaller O.D. than the factory barrel. Will update again when I receive it and have a chance to do some testing.

The new barrel blank is 3 inches longer. Not sure if he is going to cut it down to match the factory barrel or not. Glad you asked. I will have to ask Jim about that. I would like the longer barrel but would hate to lose the baffles that the 3 inches would take up. It is going to run right at $300. 125 for the barrel and 170 for machining plus the shipping.

Not a bad price. I would keep the three inches, and add a Clague, or have him make you something like he does for the Prods.

Emailed Jim yesterday and he said he is still waiting on the barrel blank to come in. Will update again when I get the new barrel. I can't wait to see if this improves the gun or not.

Jim is having issues getting the barrel blank from his supplier so I had him send my barrel back after he took all measurements he needs.

Lothar-Walther is who he is getting it from. Have you seen any improvements since the new barrel? Or have you just got the blanks?

the LW barrel is .719 OD and 28" long and still sitting in the shipping box from Lothar Walther
the TJ barrel which is .500 OD and 28" long is with Sergio at BNM getting a breech and a shroud
so i haven't been able to play with either yet
and i don't have a Rogue
got one for sale ? :)
