More is Less sometimes.

The Benjamin Rouge in .357 caliber by Crosman is the first big-bore airgun to have an electronic valve to ensure both shot-to-shot consistency, and maximum shots per fill. This forum is a place to talk about the new rifle.

Was looking over my notes and remembered that it is very important to try all the settings with a new bullet. When I was testing the 115gr Hunters Supply PHP I found that the fastest speeds where with the 100gr/HIGH setting and not the 170gr/HIGH setting or the 145gr/HIGH setting. Here is an example of the first shot on high with all the settings. Gun was filled to 3000psi after each shot.

100gr/HIGH= 898fps

145gr/HIGH= 880fps

170gr/HIGH= 868fps

How far away do you set your chrony? I have to set mine at 25 yards before it will read correctly. Anything closer and it reads in the 200fps range.

12 feet away. Mine reads good no matter what I do. Might be from the high humidity where I am at. I know that my guns usualy are a tad faster than other reaports I read. I am literaly on sea level and have 95% or more humidity most of the time except for cold fronts.

Its just like in powder burners. Some bullets do better with slow powders and some do better with fast powders. The Rogue operates in the same way. If the gun is only using 100psi to 150psi to move a bullet then it has a hard smack of air hitting the bullet. For example my Corsair uses 500psi to 900psi each shot witch tells me it releases the air from the valve slower and with less force same as slow powder in a pistol. This gun usualy does better with heavy for caliber bullets same as slow powder does with heavy bullets. JMO
